The Inheritance Games (The Inheritance Games, #1)The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I started this book in November, it started well then it got boring so I lost interest and I went to read other things. This week, I decided to re-start it and give it another chance to be read. The boring part ended after chapter 49 and it started to be intriguing. I just wanted to know where the author is going to take us with all those puzzles and riddles. You start to guess what it is all about but the ending that I was waiting for is going to be a book 2. I guess that I'm gonna read the next book because I'm curious.

About the story, for me, it was kind of inspired by Knives out's mystery style and Daphne Du Maurier's Rebecca but with an Emily. That was funny! I don't know about Cinderella because the heroine wasn't mistreated or anything, she was plain poor living in her car.

The male characters gave me a headache in this book mainly Jameson. I rolled my eyes pretty much during the dialogues and with Avery's inner discussions with herself. The ending wasn't quite satisfying.
