I received an advance review copy from booksirens for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a long prologue, if you want to see it this way, of a future longer saga about a great warrior called Karik and his companions. The story is told around the fire by a bard. (Story in a story)
All in all, it is a good start , the author knew how to create a kind of premices for an interesting lengend. It started slow but by the end, we got captivated by the story, common there is a DRAGON! You put one of these beasts anywhere, it's a win.
I have to say that I didn't feel a big interest in the characters, I just wanted to know how this adventure was going to end mainly for Karik and Ylmi. Am I curious to know what is going to happen to Karik, well....yeah! There is a curse that reminds me of the one in The Children of Hurin by Tolkien, so I want to know how this curse will touch the fate of Karik and his kids.
